4th EUROBIKE Demo Day: 1,460 trade visitors and 577 media representatives traveled to Argenbühl, Germany to test the latest innovations from the bicycle industry
The curtain was raised on the innovations of the 2011 bicycle season on Tuesday, 31 August 2010 in the town of Argenbühl, nestled in the foothills of the German Alps. At the fourth edition of the EUROBIKE Demo Day, 109 exhibitors presented their product innovations to trade and media representatives from 35 different countries. After the previous night's heavy showers made it extremely challenging to set up the event, a mixture of sun and clouds offered bike fans a day of ideal conditions to really put the innovations to the test.
One day before the opening of the world's leading trade show for the bicycle industry, EUROBIKE (1-4 September 2010), 1,460 trade visitors traveled to Argenbühl to test the latest developments in racing bikes, e-bikes, recumbent bikes, folding bikes, city bikes and mountain bikes on five special courses. "EUROBIKE Demo Day combines trade show and bike festival elements in a way that is unique worldwide," says Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann. "Despite difficult weather conditions, the fourth edition of the event was highly appreciated by exhibitors and visitors." Torrential rain flooded sections of the exhibition grounds overnight and made it difficult to set up the event. "Thanks to the fabulous support of our great team in Argenbühl, Demo Day was launched on time and as planned," says Wellmann. On the morning of the event, floodwaters were still being pumped out and wooden planks laid down to give visitors and bicycles dry surfaces underfoot - and underwheel.
Once again the innovation test day attracted an impressive number of media representatives to the Allgäu region of Germany: 577 journalists from 35 countries broadcast bike news from Argenbühl to the entire world.
