However, as a sport, cycling still has a long way to go. The industry is trying to understand the unique cycling culture in China which will help with branding and marketing strategies of bicylcle companies. Currently, branded companies often fail to identify the target market and control/monitor distribution channels. In this light, investors are not optimistic about this rapid developing industry. With the emergence of e-bike, bike tourism, digitial marketing and omni-channel retailing integration will bring new opportunities, as well as challenges to the Chinese cycling industry.
