Whether for private or commercial use: cargo bikes are trending and therefore EUROBIKE is putting a focus on the topic. For the first time, the variety and dynamics these bikes bring forth are presented in an area at the show, which was especially created for this cause – the Cargo Area.
A multiplicity of new models, most of them e-powered, make the cargo bike a practical, affordable and stylish alternative of transport – including fun times while driving.
The cargo bike bridges the gap between cars and the common bike. In times of packed inner cities and the imminent ban of diesel cars, these bikes possess huge potentials regarding an ecological shift of traffic. All over Europe, local authorities and countries offer buyer’s premium programs for the purchase of cargo bikes – which meet a growing demand: At last, in Baden-Württemberg, the number of received applications of support for commercial e-cargo bikes was twice as high as for electric cars. In March, the federal government of Germany introduced an application of support: for commercial heavy duty cargo bikes with payloads starting from 150 kg, which experience an increased use in the package delivery branch.
For the private use in everyday life, the compact cargo bikes are an exciting development. Also three-wheeled models with tilting technology and cargo bike sharing are moving fast forward.
Those and more developments can be examined on EUROBIKE 2018. The following topics are put forward:
_Cargo bikes for commercial and private use
_E-drives, constructional systems and other components for cargo bikes
_Parking facilities for cargo bikes
_Cargo bike sharing systems
