World’s largest bike trade show already well booked

New features at EUROBIKE 2010: Bike Fashion Show now in East Foyer – Cycling fashions in Hall B5 – Large e-Bike test track – 14 exhibition halls and more than 100,000 square meters of floor space

Three innovative changes have been announced for EUROBIKE 2010, which will take place in Friedrichshafen on the shores of Lake Constance from September 1 – 4, 2010, and which is once again on course to be bigger than ever before. The Bike Fashion Show will be staged in the East Foyer for the first time, giving cycling fashion manufacturers even more space, as they will now occupy the whole of Hall B5, close to the fashion show. Due to the high demand for space, the organizing team is currently giving specific consideration to extending Hall A7. They are expecting more than 1,000 exhibitors, requiring over 100,000 square meters of exhibition space.

As always, the world’s leading trade show for the cycling industry will focus on the bicycle both as a popular leisure product and a practical way of getting from A to B. The expanded site now comprises 14 halls and two outdoor exhibition grounds to the east and west. The organizers are also expecting more than 39,000 specialist dealers and over 1,500 journalists from around the world. Running from Wednesday, September 1 to General Public Day on Saturday, September 4, EUROBIKE 2010 offers a community platform for the worldwide bike business.

Booking numbers in good shape
With preparations for EUROBIKE 2010 proceeding apace, organizers are already reporting booking figures to be “exceptionally strong,” even five months before the event begins. Indeed, well over 1,000 exhibitors are once again expected to take part. “Things are looking extremely good, both for EUROBIKE itself and DEMO DAY on August 31st, the day before the show,” says project manager Stefan Reisinger, echoing the view of Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann. Once again, all of the world’s leading manufacturers will be on hand, offering a comprehensive range of bikes, accessories and clothing.

Focus on e-Bikes
Pedelecs and e-bikes will feature even more prominently than in previous years, with all leading manufacturers in attendance. “As the world’s leading bike trade show, EUROBIKE offers excellent synergies for makers, sellers and users of LEVs – or light electric vehicles -, as well as for the media that cover them,” says Reisinger. There will be more display space for e-bikes, pedelecs and LEV accessories, and a large test track on the 500-meter-long street where trade visitors will be able to ride e-bikes up a 1-in-8 gradient toward the eastern car park. EUROBIKE 2010 also offers the first proper opportunity to test high-speed pedelecs.

Wednesday to Saturday
EUROBIKE 2010 runs from Wednesday, September 1 to Saturday, September 4. Opening hours are from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, except on Saturday (General Public Day), when it is open from 9 am to 6 pm.

New access roads ready
In further good news, it will be even easier to get to EUROBIKE this year. The new southern and northern access roads will be open, thus connecting Messe Friedrichshafen even better to road networks beyond the region.
