The self-contained bike globetrotter from years gone by has very little in common with today’s bike tour clientele. The combination of a nature experience and the desire to do yourself some good, and to be part of a group doing something together, is one of the most important motivations for a holiday nowadays. A bike is a good basis for meeting these needs. Michael van der Sanden’s presentation addresses the changes in what tourists want, new information offers in planning tours, changes in the hotel and restaurant sector, plus the infrastructure that is currently necessary for cycle tours. The JUFA guesthouses in Nördlingen, Salzburg and Seefeld Kadolz are real examples of this and promise excellent offers for sporty families.
