Cycling trips with children

For Gunnar Fehlau the family and bikes simply go together - like bread and butter. A few pictures and some entertaining, yet informative, glosses by the father of two children will show the Travel Talk participants why the modern family of today likes to be on the road by bike, and why the tourist industry should be catering for cycling families and offering them enough slipstream.

The journalist Gunnar Fehlau has been writing (and riding) on bikes for some 20 years now. The spectrum of his publications ranges from “BILD” to bike reference books such as the family guide to cycling “Das Familien-Fahrrad-Buch“ he recently published with Caspar Gebel. That he knows what he’s talking about can be seen not only in his many bike tours (Europe, America, Asia), his daily trips with a folding bike, tandem, transport bike or e-bike, but also in the sporting challenges, such as the “TransAlp” and “Grenzsteintrophy”. Since 2003 Fehlau has been presenting the news service website “pressedienst-fahrrad” with the aim of raising public awareness regarding the high-quality bicycle and its use. He is also the initiator and publisher of the cycling culture magazine “fahrstil”.
