In 2009 the Kithbüheler Alps was one of the first tourist destinations to offer an e-bike (pedelec) system covering the entire area. Today there are rental stations at 42 locations in the Kitzbüheler Alps and 79 in the Kaisergebirge with a total of 280 bikes by MOVELO, plus 62 stations for changing batteries.

Max Salcher
Max Salcher began his career in 1983 with the Tyrolean Travel Agency in Innsbruck. Since then he has managed various tourism organisations. In 2000, together with seven tourist boards and mountain railway companies, he set up the marketing company Wilder Kaiser Brixental. Since a change in the tourism policies in Tyrol in 2005 Mr. Salcher has been Director of the Tourist Board Kitzbüheler Alps Brixental with the resorts Westendorf, Brixen i.Thale and Kichberg in Tyrol. True to his motto “in the future only large tourism regions with combined financial strength will be able to hold their own on the market“ he played a leading role in the set up of Kitzbüheler Alpen Marketing GmbH in 2006.
