Eurobike Travel Talk 2017: New trends in international bike tourism
16th business exchange about tourism themes of the future with prominent speakers to take place at Lake ConstanceFriedrichshafen - It’s about successfully create synergies between the bicycle and tourism industries. At the Eurobike Travel Talk 2017 on Friday, September 1 2017, practically-oriented presentations by prominent speakers will address topics such as infrastructure, e?mountain bikes, smart cycling, racing bike tourism and global product trends. The direct dialogue between the speakers and audiences also offers all participants the opportunity to share experiences and strengthen their professional networks.
Travel Talk participants can expect exciting presentations from manufacturers like Bosch, Shimano and Abus and will also learn all about the tourism potential of the "Grand Départ,” the Tour de France 2017 in Düsseldorf and the 200th anniversary of invention of the bicycle in Mannheim. "The Eurobike Travel Talk brings international representatives of the bicycle business and the tourism industry together and is an important business exchange about current topics of mutual interest. We are looking forward to the exciting speakers and expect that participation will again be very strong,” said Eurobike project leader Dirk Heidrich.
Starting at 10:30 a.m., sessions will be held in the large conference room (Berlin/Paris room) at Messe Friedrichshafen. The event will open with the "Infrastructure” session, at which bicycle transportation expert Harald Spiering will talk about the success of the RS1, the fast bike trail in the Ruhr metropolitan area, and Scotsman Graeme McLean will report on the secret of Scottish mountain biking. This will be followed by a compact block which will take an intense look at the E-MTB and its impact on tourism.
The next highlight will come after the lunch break. In the Smart Cycling Business Duel, six companies - in three rounds of two companies each - will answer critical questions from expert Thomas Froitzheim (Naviso) and the audience.
The participants will have to make a decision at 2:45 p.m., because in the Berlin Room, the session "The Racing Bike - Successful offers for racing bike tourists” will take place while "Trends around the world,” will be held in the Paris Room, focusing on a project in the Greek Aegean, the bicycle’s potential as a mode of transportation in the Alpine region and current trending micro-topic "Microadventure.”
In the "Facts and Figures” session, the big bike publishing houses will present their latest reader surveys, findings and trends in bike tourism. Representatives of BVA, Delius Kalsing, Motorpresse and WOM Medien will be on hand.
The event will wrap up with two expert tours through the exhibition focusing on Smart Cycling and E-MTB. In small groups with experienced industry experts, participants will learn more about the trends and product innovations at the Eurobike 2017.
