International bicycle trade expo starts on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 - Festival Days taking place from Saturday to Sunday, September 3 - 4, 2016 for the first time - Demo Area offers five days of nonstop test opportunitiesFriedrichshafen - The focus will be on the new innovations for the 2017 bike season when the curtain rises on the Eurobike international bicycle trade exhibition. From August 31 to September 4, all eyes of media and industry professionals will be focused on the fairgrounds in at Lake Constance. The bicycle industry’s newest innovations will be evaluated by an international jury of experts in advance of the show. Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann, Eurobike head Stefan Reisinger and project leader Dirk Heidrich are looking forward to the start of the expo: "The international bicycle trade exhibition is seeing a level of participation that is simply first class.” Everything related to bicycles and bike accessories, fashion and a wealth of specialist information about bikes will be spread across more than 100,000 square meters in 13 exhibition halls during Business Days. During Festival Days on Saturday and Sunday, the expo will also open its gates to all bike enthusiasts. A new Demo Area with expanded test opportunities will be open for the duration of the expo and will replace Demo Day, which had taken place in advance of the Eurobike.
More than 1,350 exhibitors, 46,000 industry visitors from over 100 countries, 20,000 bike fans and about 2,000 journalists are expected at the 2016 Eurobike. The trade show is open to industry visitors during its first three days, the Business Days. "This is where all of the people from all over the world who are professionally tied to bicycles and the bicycle industry meet. Lake Constance is where the spotlight is shined on the new trends for the next season for the first time,” explained a confident Klaus Wellmann and Eurobike Head Stefan Reisinger. The huge bike show offers a comprehensive overview of the market: Everyday bikes, sport bikes, e-bikes, cargo bikes, children’s bikes and reclining bikes. The newest bike fashions will take to the catwalk and informative discussions will be held during an accompanying program focusing on current issues in the industry.
Eurobike Festival Days:
The world’s biggest bike testing event will celebrate its premiere on September 3 and 4, 2016 in Friedrichshafen. Under the motto "Test, experience, celebrate,” everything will be focused on bicycles for two whole days. With 3000 test bikes, new products and innovations from more than 1000 exhibitors and a supporting program that’s practically bursting at the seams, the new Eurobike Festival Days are sure to be an incredible bike event.

Eurobike Fashion Show
Bicycle riding is trending. That’s why the right style is always in demand as far as bikewear is concerned. The Fashion Show will show off what everyone will be wearing on their bikes next season at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. daily in the East Foyer. This year, we will welcome Dare 2b, Funkier Bike Wear, Giant Deutschland, GORE BIKE Wear, Pearl Izumi, SCOTT, SHIMANO CYCLING WEAR, VAUDE Sport and X-Bionic/TRERE Innovation to the stage.
The 2016 Eurobike Award
The Eurobike Award not only serves as valuable recognition for the best innovations in the various segments of the bike market, it is also an important measure of the innovative spirit of the industry. Based on the 472 applications that have been submitted for the Eurobike Award in the past few weeks, the R&D departments of the bicycle and bicycle accessories industries have again been very productive in their preparations for the new model year. For two days, a six-person expert jury took on the challenge of selecting the innovative highlights of the coming year from this large field of participants.
Eurobike Travel Talk
Travel Talk brings the bicycle and tourism industries together at the international level. On Friday, September 2, 2016, the newest trends and innovations in bicycle tourism will be presented and discussed at the Eurobike. Specifically, the focus will be on synergies between infrastructure projects and bicycle tourism, in addition to statistics and the latest studies. The organizers will look into the conflict between mountain bikes, e-bikes and hikers and will illustrate current EU funding opportunities as well as bicycle tourism in Southeast Asia. In a kind of "business speed-dating”, guests will have the opportunity to discover ten innovative startups and companies within a very brief time frame. Südtirol Dolomites Hero is the new tourism partner of the Eurobike
With a length of 86 kilometers and 4500 meters of altitude changes, it is regarded as the hardest mountain bike race in the world: the Hero Race in South Tyrol. For the first time, the Südtirol Dolomites Hero is the new tourism partner of the leading global bike trade show the Eurobike. "With the Südtirol Dolomites Hero, we have gained a strong partner for the next four years. Through this cooperation, in addition to the newest product innovations, we will be able to strengthen bike tourism, another important facet of the bike industry. Bike tourism has been growing steadily for decades and is an essential component of what we offer here at this leading international bicycle exhibition,” explained project leader Dirk Heidrich.

25th Eurobike Ceremony and Eurobike Party
To kick off the Eurobike party, there will be a special ceremony marking the 25th Eurobike. The ceremony will center around a program with big names and fascinating and entertaining pictures from the 25-year history of the expo. Immediately following the ceremony, the festivities will continue with the legendary EUROBIKE party. Trade visitors, exhibitors, journalists, experts and industry representatives will celebrate on the West Open Air Grounds starting at 6:30 p.m.
Music Area and Radio 7 Eurobike Festival Days Party 2016
In the MUSIC AREA, bike stars and top music acts will make sure there is plenty of amazing bike action along with unforgettable tunes. Trial biker Danny MacAskill and his team will get the show started on Saturday at 10 a.m. when they demonstrate their idea of bike riding in their Drop & Roll show. After that, the show continues with music from Kelvin Jones, Arnold Palmer, Gringo Bavaria, Rockstroh, Killerpilze, Dao, Be Ignacio and Alvaro Soler, until the MUSIC AREA becomes the location of the FESTIVAL PARTY on Saturday night. The Radio 7 Mixshow team, with music director Matze Ihring and star DJ Chris Montana will ensure that visitors enjoy an unforgettable party night at the fairgrounds.
On Sunday, the day will again start with a live bike performance from Danny MacAskill, before international musicians like Madcon, JORIS, Lions Head, Rose May, Bê Ignacio and the band Janina and the Deeds fill the fairgrounds with a festival atmosphere.
Shuttle bus service
The free shuttle bus service to and from the fairgrounds is ready to go. Two runs from local hotels to the fairgrounds will be offered every morning in time for the start of the show, and will return in the evening after closing time. The first run is intended for exhibitors and visitors can use the second run to get to the fairgrounds just before opening time. Two return runs are available after the show closes in the evening. The show also provides important connections to the airports in Zurich and Memmingen. In addition, catamarans from Constance and a car ferry from Romanshorn offer transportation across Lake Constance, and the free Messe-Express train is available to take visitors from the city or harbor railway station to the Eurobike. The Eurobike 2016 takes place from Wednesday, August 31 to Saturday, September 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, September 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the Business Days, from Wednesday to Friday, the Eurobike 2016 is only open to industry visitors and accredited journalists. The Eurobike is open to the general public on the Festival Days, Saturday and Sunday. Admission costs 12 euros for one day for 17 euros for both days.
