NEW MOBILITY WITH STYLE
Klever Mobility, Cologne-based subsidiary of KYMCO and urban E-Bike specialist, received the Eurobike Award 2017 in Friedrichshafen for the fast “Klever X Speed” S-Pedelec. The stylish e-bike won the prize in the “E-Bikes & Pedelecs” category. The Eurobike Award, which is based upon the criteria of Quality, Design, Degree of Innovation, and Functionality, is one of the most important international awards that a company in the bicycle / e-bike industry can win. 458 applications were received, out of which the capable specialist panel selected 43 winning products.
The Eurobike Award 2017 is the fourth renowned award for the Klever X series, which stands out of the market thanks to its distinctive rhombic “loopframe.” The design language and the successful integration of the different components already managed to convince the specialist panels in charge of the iF product design award 2017 and the Red Dot Design Award 2017. The e-bikes were ranked first in two road tests: the ExtraEnergy test and the S-Pedelec benchmark test of “BIKE Bild” magazine.
Klever X Speed: at 600 Watts, a real alternative to your car
The S-Pedelec Klever X Speed is among the first of its class which have been tested in accordance with the new EU type approval system. And that is why they can use a 600 Watts motor, putting them among the strongest speed pedelecs available. The allowed top speed of 45 kmph can be reached easily, thanks to the BIACTRON rear-wheel motor with E-Scooter genes. In addition, the 49 Nm hub drive can realise its maximum torque independent of the transmission ratio, which is an advantage especially at higher speeds and in higher gears.
With these fully furbished e-bikes Klever caters to style-conscious commuters and those willing to make the change from their car to an e-bike. “High-quality e-bikes and fast S-pedelecs are not only outstanding alternative means of mobility but also new image carriers and status symbols,” the people at Klever are convinced. Judging by the sales numbers, they are correct. According to data published by Germany’s “Zweirad-Industrie-Verband” (“Association of the Two-Wheeler Industry”), around 3 million e-bikes are roaming Germany’s roads at present. And more and more of them are used for travelling to work.
