Exhibitor comments 2009

Exhibitor comments of the EUROBIKE 2009

Tom Ritchey, Company Founder Ritchey International Sagl:

"Thanks to its global approach, EUROBIKE is the most important trade show for my company. This is a unique venue with many high-quality innovations that you don't see anywhere else. On top of that, EUROBIKE offers great business opportunities and is a global meeting place. We'll always come back."

Andrea Gastaldello, Amministratore delegato, Wilier Triestina Spa:

"We've experienced an excellent EUROBIKE with intensive and successful trade show days. For us this is the world's most important show of the year to do business."

Werner Forster, Managing Director Cycle Union:

"It's remarkable what the trade show has managed to accomplish here in Friedrichshafen over the years. In my opinion, EUROBIKE is gaining an increasingly pronounced business character, without losing the cult, fun and cycling scene aspect. I think this mixture is outstanding and hope that over the coming years everything will stay the way it is. I like the straightforward collaboration with trade show organizers and hope that none of that will change despite the enormous success of EUROBIKE. The traffic is definitely there, and I have the feeling that the infrastructure here has been further stabilized. All I can say is: 'Keep up the good work!'"

Mathias Seidler, CEO Derby Cycle Werke GmbH:

"The trade show was perfectly organized and there were incredibly positive improvements in logistics. Shifting the trade visitor days to three weekdays had made many things go much more smoothly, and we had more time for our international clients. We're highly impressed by the number of retailers who traveled here from outside Europe for information and procurement. It also appears that EUROBIKE has made quantum leaps when it comes to journalists from around the world. More than ever before, it seems like EUROBIKE should be called Globalbike."

Christophe Jouffret, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Cycling Sports Group:

"We're very satisfied with EUROBIKE 2009 and are delighted with the large number of visitors at our stands. We very much appreciate the format of EUROBIKE, with three trade visitor days and an open house day. This has provided us with intensive and successful trade show days."

Helmut Sova, Managing Director BICO Zweirad Marketing GmbH:

"We're very satisfied with our EUROBIKE participation. We've reached up to 80 percent of our members here. We're absolutely delighted with our collaboration with Messe Friedrichshafen. We see EUROBIKE as the leading trade show and BICO is very pleased to be here."

Pascal Herrmann, Marketing Communication W.L. Gore & Associates GmbH:

"Our product themes were very well accepted by the public. We're pleased with the intense media interest and the large numbers of high-quality visitors and many retailers. EUROBIKE 2009 was extremely well organized and brought the entire bike community to Friedrichshafen."

Frank Peiffer, Commercial Director Shimano Europe BV:

"At EUROBIKE we enjoyed a very high visitor rate, which was also equally distributed throughout all the trade show days. The new measures to improve the traffic situation appear to have been effective."

Fritz G. Baumgarten, General Manager Campagnolo Deutschland GmbH:

"Things went fabulously well for us this year and there was an incredibly positive atmosphere. This is the greatest trade show in the world."

Siegfried Neuberger, Technical Director, ZIV (German Two-Wheeler industry Association):

"We've only heard positive comments from the members of our association. This trade show offers high quality across the board. We're very pleased with the large proportion of visitors from abroad. This international character is extremely important for maintaining relationships with partners and establishing contacts with foreign representatives. Many exhibitors have already successfully concluded business deals. As an association, we can make contact with institutions right here on location, for example, the German safety standards authority and testing agencies. EUROBIKE offers an ideal platform for the entire bicycle industry."

Andreas Jansen, Sales Director Gazelle:

"The trade show has been fantastic. Customers arrive at our stand in a relaxed mood. This definitely comes thanks to the enhanced coordination and extended opening hours. The trade show is evolving and is increasingly becoming an event where visitors come to place orders. At our stand our new product line with the "Ultimate" trekking bicycle was especially popular. There was of course also a great deal of interest in the e-bikes, and the test track on the open-air grounds received an outstanding response. The atmosphere is excellent and extremely relaxed. The infrastructure and access roads have been significantly improved. We're looking forward to coming back."

Thomas Kunz, Secretary of Germany's Retail Association for Two-Wheeled Vehicles (VDZ):

"EUROBIKE is the trade show for the bicycle and accessory industry - there's nothing else like it."

Eberhard Beez, Sales und Marketing Manager Hostettler:

"This year's demand for e-bikes and pedelecs exceeds all expectations. In our opinion, the visitor day makes good sense and we would like to see the show remain open to the general public on Saturday and Sunday next year."

Carol Urkauf-Chen, Owner and General Manager KTM:

"We generated a great deal of media interest this year with our new "Energo Race" electric mountain bike. The new opening hours make sense."

Torsten Mendel, Marketing Director ABUS August Bremicker Söhne KG:

"EUROBIKE 2009 attracted large crowds, as usual. We're pleased with the new opening hours, which helped to even out the rush at our stand. Our retailers showed a great deal of interest in products for urban transportation - commuting is definitely an up-and-coming trend. Of course we're especially pleased with the EUROBIKE awards that we've received for our Urban I. helmet and the Urban Exclusive ST 7750 KF business bag."

Matteo Paccagnella, Marketing Manager Selle Royal spa:

"At this year's EUROBIKE we've encountered a great deal of interest in cycling comfort. An increasing number of everyday athletes are taking to riding bikes, so we're seeing a clear merging of diverse types of bicycles. Our expansion of our six lines of saddles has proven to be the right decision."

Ralf Puslat, Managing Director Puky GmbH & Co KG:

"We see this EUROBIKE as a highly positive event. There was an extremely large proportion of international visitors, which primarily allowed us to establish new export contacts. Our innovations, such as the 24-inch Crusader bike for youngsters, were extremely well received."

Kurt Schär, Managing Director Biketec AG:

"E-bikes are the top trend in the world of bicycles - this year and in the coming year. We noticed that there was hardly a single stand without an e-bike, and there are also more providers of sports models. That was a necessary and positive development for this segment. Many retailers are relying on fliers as a key cornerstone of their business. This has also been reflected in the positive indicators for advance orders in 2010."
