Franz Tepe has been head of the department for marketing and advertising of ZEG Zweirad-Einkaufs-Genossenschaft eG, a bicycle purchasing cooperative, since 2010. He studied at Leibniz Universität Hannover, from where he graduated in information technology and business administration. Afterwards, he was sole shareholder and managing director with T&T Marketing GmbH from 1994 to 2003 and on the executive board of T&T Corporate Communication Aktiengesellschaft from 2003 to 2007. From 1998 to 2010, he was also managing director of Convision Management Unternehmensberatung GmbH.
Cycle tourism – Potential as seen by the Bicycle Purchasing Cooperative (ZEG)
Cycling and especially e-biking is an essential component of tourism in Germany and is becoming increasingly important. In this talk you will find out how mobility is changing and affecting tourism. The needs of the target groups for sustainable tourism and also for high-quality health tourism are illustrated with the aid of lively examples. Challenges, in this case meeting the needs of a quality-conscious target group, are presented in detail, as are the chances for those in the tourism sector to develop new potential and offer guests a high-quality experience at their destination. The growing use of E-MTBs in important tourist regions is confronting them with new challenges that present completely new opportunities for marketing.
